Broccoli, “Broccolo” in Italian, used to be incorpopated in the Italian eating habits since the Roman Empire and was introduced to the U.S. by Italian immigrants, without being widely known until the 20s.
This vegetable belongs to the cabbage family and was first appeared in the Nothern Mediterranean in the 6th century BCE.
